This is the first part of the photo diary of my time in Finland. I was fortune to have 4 weeks time to catch up with the loved ones and enjoy the best time of the year Finland has to offer, before continuing my way. The last day in New York I spent with Luca, wondering around Soho, eating in East Village, trying to realize that I was going back home. The final moments felt surreal as I had some time to sit on Luca’s apartments fire escape, with just me and my thoughts, trying to absorb how incredible time I had spent in New York. Then, I had no choice but to cross the Brooklyn bridge and leave this beloved island for now. I could not avoid looking back while crossing and burst into tears. I know I am not the only one having experienced this.
All the sadness was gone since the moment I got to Helsinki. Dear Henni picking me up from airport made arriving easy <3. The next thing was to see my girls after way too log time, 9 months. The first thing next morning I took a train to the summer house to spend some time with parents. Slow breakfasts, sauna, lake, food, my godson and grandma, berry picking (like my outfit?), the PEACE – doing the things I had missed the most.
