Happiness is having a mother who takes you to Rome

While I should be studying for my very last UG exam, I have found it very hard to concentrate for the past couple days. There might be something to due with the fact that I’m flying back home sooner than I can realize. Though sad to leave Hong Kong, by now  I am already very excited and anxious to get to the plane. So, in a way of avoid opening my books, I came across these photos from our trip to Rome in Fall 2012. I’m fortunate enough to have a mom who is always happy to do a little escape from the everyday life back home.

It was my second time in Rome after a family trip to Italian countryside and to some cities few years back, which remains one of the favourite trip ever for all of us. This time, I fell in love with the little alleys, cozy yet historic atmosphere and impressive old architecture. We managed to find, what we felt as the best hotel in Rome, with an amazing view over the city from the breakfast room.  I love the Italian grocery stores where you can find fresh dishes to pull of a perfect picnic with very reasonable prices. Fresh flowers and little cheese, wine and gelato shops everywhere… Though I do find Rome an amazing city, I could not see myself living there but rather be happy visiting as a tourist. Until now, only New York, London and Hong Kong has made me feel like I belong there. Besides my beloved home city of course;). Yet Italy is one of my favourite countries, and I’m constantly dreaming of going back to the countryside, Tuscany in particular. Sunsets behind the valleys and getting lost to a vineyard… Hopefully I will find myself there soon.

Meanwhile, I’m now getting lost to my brand management book for the next days and eventually finding myself from Helsinki airport on early Tuesday morning ❤

P.S. These pictures were the very first that I took with my first professional camera, so forgive the quality, and hopefully there has been development seen since 😉
